Solid hardwood is milled from a single piece of wood (typically ¾" thick) and can be refinished multiple times. Engineered hardwood has a real wood top layer bonded to a plywood or HDF core — it handles humidity and temperature changes better, making it suitable for basements and radiant-heated floors. Both look identical once installed. Solid hardwood at BBS ranges from $5.10-$7.25/sqft; engineered hardwood from $2.49-$8.99/sqft.

Yes — all the vinyl/LVP flooring we carry is 100% permanently waterproof throughout the entire plank thickness. This makes it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and laundry rooms. It will not swell, buckle, or warp from water exposure. Note: waterproof laminate (which we also carry) has 72-hour waterproof protection on the core — excellent, but different from vinyl's permanent waterproofing.

Vidar Design Flooring is our premium European-manufactured line with 237 products. Because Vidar offers extensive customization options (different widths, grades, and finishes for the same colour), pricing requires a personalized consultation. Our installation rates: vinyl and laminate from $2.00/sqft, engineered hardwood nail-down from $2.25/sqft (planks 6½" and under), glue+nail or herringbone nail-down from $3.25/sqft, herringbone glue+nail from $4.25/sqft. These are all-inclusive labour rates with no hidden fees. Furniture moving is included at no extra charge for standard items.

Our installation includes: free in-home measurement, furniture moving and replacement, old flooring removal (if requested), subfloor preparation, professional installation by our WSIB-insured crew, and cleanup. We handle the entire project so you don't have to coordinate multiple contractors.

Stair tread refinishing (sand and restain existing hardwood) costs $125 per step. New straight stair treads (recapping over existing) are $185 each. Specialty steps (pie, triangle, bullnose) are $225 each. Iron or wood pickets are $25 per piece installed with material. A typical 13-step staircase refinish with rails and nosing runs $2,000-$2,500.

Yes — carpet removal is $1.00 per square foot, plus a $75 haul-away and disposal fee. We can handle the removal as part of your flooring installation project or as a standalone service.

Most residential installations are completed in 1-3 days depending on square footage and flooring type. A standard 500 sqft room takes about one day for laminate or vinyl, and 1-2 days for hardwood. We also handle old flooring removal, subfloor prep, and baseboard installation in the same visit.

Warehouse pickup is free. Delivery to your garage is $140. Delivery inside your home (to the room of installation) is $200. All deliveries are within our GTA service area.
