Triforest Flooring (Toucan) — Vinyl, Laminate & Engineered Oak

Toucan Flooring is a brand owned by Triforest Inc., a Toronto-based manufacturer of laminate, SPC luxury vinyl and MDF panels. Triforest has produced laminate just outside Toronto since 2023 and opened Canada's first SPC vinyl plant in Ajax, Ontario in 2025. Sample boards, boxes and spec sheets may say either name — the product, the codes (TF SPC 707, TF 8005, TF CET 1001…) and the 25-year residential warranty are identical.

On bbsflooring.ca every Toucan product is listed under Triforest with its Toucan colour name — so "Toucan Cali Bluffs" is our TF SPC 510 — Cali Bluffs, and "Toucan Terracotta" is TF 8005 — Terracotta. Bring the code or the colour name and we'll match it on the spot.

Triforest punches well above its price band — here's what you're actually getting:

• Waterproof SPC core on every vinyl plank — stone-plastic composite doesn't swell, so it's safe for basements, kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms.
• 20 mil wear layer on most SPC series — the commercial-grade spec, not the 6–12 mil found on box-store vinyl.
• Waterproof laminate — the TF66, TF80 and TF83 series carry 72–120 hour spill ratings, and the TF80 series is AC4-rated for heavy residential and light commercial traffic.

Vinyl is Triforest's core business, and the series ladder is simple — thicker plank and attached pad as you move up:

• SPC3 Series — 4.2mm (3.2mm + 1mm pad), $2.29/sqft: thinnest profile for low-clearance jobs (over existing floors, tight door thresholds). 6 colours.
• SPC5 Series — 6mm, 20 mil wear layer, $2.55/sqft: 1520 × 230 mm wide planks, 12 colours including Cali Bluffs, French Grey and Golden Hour. Our best-value mid-weight plank.
• SPC2 Series — 6.5mm, 20 mil, $2.65/sqft: 1220 × 183 mm classic plank format.
• SPC86 Series — 8mm (6mm + 2mm pad), $2.69/sqft: 10 Canadian-inspired colours (Morning Mist, Northern Linen, Driftwood Shore…).
• SPC4 Series — 7mm with 1.5mm condo pad, $2.75–$3.19/sqft: 1520 × 228 mm long planks in 6 colours (Lemon Pepper, Winter Air, River Rock…); the go-to for GTA condos with sound requirements.

• Matt / Hand Scraped Collection — 12.3mm, AC4, $2.29/sqft: the entry laminate — narrow 126 mm planks in Nature Classic, Hickory Classic, Nature Lite and Titan Oak. Not rated waterproof; best for bedrooms, hallways and offices.

Less known than the vinyl, Triforest also makes two 3/4" (18mm) engineered hardwood lines with a light wire-brushed, character-grade oak face:

• Studio Collection — $4.79/sqft: 2mm white oak top layer, 165 mm wide, 6 colours (Oyster, Tusk, Sable, Woodland, Sky, Shadow).
• Towne Collection — $6.29/sqft: 3mm European oak top layer, 190 mm wide, 6 colours (Silk, Shell, Satin, Hazelnut, Cashmere, Solitude).

Both carry the 25-year residential warranty and can be refinished thanks to the real-wood wear layer.
